TASK 1 : 3º A,B. What are the different levels of organisation and structure in the human body?

The human body has several levels of structural and functional organisation. The various systems have very different structures. However, they consist of the same basic units: biomolecules and cells.

The cell is the smallest unit of life and performs the three main life processes: nutrition, interaction and reproduction. Cells differentiate and specialise to perform the different functions.

Cells with a specific function come together to form tissues. The tissues join together and interact to form organs. The organs join to form the systems, such as the digestive system, the circulatory system and the reproductive system.

                        WHAT DO WE KNOW?

1. What is the basic structure of an animal cell? Do you know about different cell types?

2. What are the main tissues that make up organs?

3. What are the main systems and organs of the human body? Do you know what their functions are?
